Why LatchTime?

Being a new mom is hard enough.
Remembering feeding times shouldn't be.

In the first weeks of a baby's life, the AAP recommends breastfeeding 8–12 times every 24 hours. That's every 90–180 minutes — around the clock, through exhaustion and brain fog.

LatchTime takes the guesswork out. One tap logs a feed. The app tells you exactly when the next window opens — based on your baby's age, health status, and the latest clinical guidelines.

Features

Everything a breastfeeding mom needs.
Nothing she doesn't.

🤱

One-Tap Feed Logging

Tap "Started Feeding" and you're done. The app records the time, asks which breast, and starts the countdown. Log a feed in under 2 seconds.

⏱️

Live Countdown Timer

See exactly how many hours and minutes until the next recommended feeding window. The countdown updates every second, even in the background.

🧠

Clinically-Backed Intervals

The recommended window adjusts based on your baby's age, whether they were premature, health flags, diaper output, and feeding frequency — following AAP and WHO guidelines.

⚠️

Smart Health Monitoring

Toggle health flags — jaundice, fever, lethargy, poor latch — and the app tightens its recommendations automatically. Urgent cases are flagged clearly.

📊

Daily & Weekly Summaries

See session count, total duration, average per session, breast-side proportion, and more — all benchmarked against clinical targets for your baby's age.

🔔

Local Notifications

Get notified when the feeding window opens and again at the maximum recommended time — even if the app is closed or your phone is asleep.

🌡️

Fever Verification

When you flag a fever, the app shows a clinical reference table of temperature thresholds by measurement method (rectal, armpit, ear, forehead) before confirming.

🇮🇩

Bilingual: EN & ID

Switch between English and Bahasa Indonesia instantly. All content — including help tooltips and clinical references — is fully translated.

🔒

Fully Offline & Private

All data lives on your phone. No login, no account, no cloud sync. Nothing is ever sent anywhere. Distribute as an APK — no Play Store required.

How it works

Three steps. That's it.

1

Set up once

Enter your baby's date of birth, feeding type, and whether they were premature. Takes 30 seconds. You never fill this in again.

2

Tap when you feed

Hit "Started Feeding" when you begin. Choose Left, Both, or Right breast. Hit "Finished Feeding" when done. That's a logged session.

3

See when to feed next

A live countdown shows the next window. You'll get a notification when it opens, and another reminder at the latest recommended time.

FAQ

Questions & Answers

Yes, LatchTime is completely free. There are no ads, no subscriptions, and no in-app purchases. It is a passion project built for mothers who need a simple, reliable tool — not a monetisation platform.

LatchTime works 100% offline. All your data — baby profile, feed history, health flags — is stored on your phone. The app requires no internet connection and no account. Nothing is ever sent to any server.

The app uses a clinical engine that calculates a recommended feeding interval based on:

  • Your baby's chronological age (and corrected age if premature)
  • The last feeding time (start or end, as you recorded)
  • Any health flags you have toggled (jaundice, fever, lethargy, etc.)
  • Your baby's diaper output in the last 24 hours

Intervals follow AAP and WHO breastfeeding guidelines and are tightened when health concerns are present.

Yes. During setup, toggle "Born premature?" and enter the gestational age in weeks. LatchTime will calculate the corrected age and use shorter, more frequent feeding intervals appropriate for premature infants — as recommended by Meier et al. (Clin Perinatol, 2013).

Routine: Everything looks normal. Feeding pattern is within the expected range for your baby's age.

Monitor: Some health factors are present (e.g., poor latch, weight concern). The app has shortened the maximum interval. Watch for feeding cues closely.

Review Needed: One or more red flags are active (fever, lethargy, persistent vomiting, low urine output, early jaundice). Contact your pediatrician. The app has set a shorter interval as a precaution.

Not yet. LatchTime is currently Android only, targeting Android 8.0 (API 26) and above, optimised for Android 16 (API 36). An iOS version is planned for a future release. If you want to be notified, send us a message via WhatsApp or email.

Not yet — we're in active testing and collecting feedback from early users first. You can get the APK directly via WhatsApp by contacting us using the button on this page. Google Play submission is planned after the current testing phase.

  1. Request the APK via WhatsApp using the button on this page.
  2. We'll send you the file directly.
  3. Open the downloaded APK on your phone.
  4. If prompted, enable "Install from unknown sources" in your phone's Settings → Security.
  5. Tap Install. Done.

Your data is completely private — the app never connects to the internet.

LatchTime is decision support only, not medical software. It helps you track feeds and provides general guidance based on clinical guidelines — but it cannot diagnose, prescribe, or replace the professional judgment of a pediatrician or lactation consultant. Always seek medical advice if you have concerns about your baby's health or feeding.
